Student's Benefits from GUPP

  • Allows students to earn college credit for courses being taken at their own high school;

  • Provide qualified students access to rigorous & challenging education;

  • Recognize students for the high level of work they are already doing;

Student's Eligibility for GUPP

  • Juniors and seniors must have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale and electronic approval of the course instructor or GUPP Partner Coordinator.

  • Sophomores are eligible to enroll in GUPP courses in certain circumstances, including sequenced GUPP courses in mathematics (College Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Calculus I, Calculus II, Calculus III) and foreign languages (courses numbered 1010 or above). Sophomores may be approved by GUPP Partners to enroll if the student meets all of the following requirements:

  1. A minimum 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale

  2. Completed the pre-requisite course(s) with a grade(s) of “B” or higher

  3. Provide a signed letter of recommendation from the principal and guidance counselor attesting to the student’s suitability to take this course for college credit

  4. Provide written permission from a parent or legal guardian

  5. Electronic approval of the GUPP course instructor or GUPP Partner Coordinator

  • Freshmen are not eligible to enroll in GUPP courses.
